The Department of Physiology was established in 1962 as a part of Govt. Medical college Miraj. The department offers an elaborate teaching in the subject of Human Physiology for 150 MBBS students each year. We also run wide range of research projects seeking for newer dimensions in Physiology and medical science as a whole. Our department also offers 2 seats for postgraduate (MD) course in Physiology. We have a parallel teaching program for Paramedical and Nursing students to help them better understand the functioning of human body.
In future we intend to expand laboratory services to include EEG, Nerve Conduction Studies, Sports Physiology, Spirometry, and Electromyography to enhance the patient care with application of clinical Physiology.
