THE DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS WAS STARTED AS A SUBUNIT OF MEDICINE IN 1972-1973. THE DEPARTMENT WAS UNDER MEDICINE FOR

 AROUND 2 YEARS .INITIALLY ONLY 4 BEDS WERE ALLOTED . IN 1974, SEPARATE PEDIATRIC DEPARTMENT WAS ESTABLISHED WITH ONLY SINGLE UNIT FUNCTIONING. CURRENTLY IT HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO 3 UNITS- 2 UNITS IN GMCH MIRAJ AND 1 UNIT IN PVPGN SANGLI.
