Department Information

Department of Psychiatry at Government Medical College and Hospital Miraj provides out-patient as well as inpatient care for adults and children with Mental illness. It is actively involved in clinical care, teaching of undergraduate medical and nursing students, research and community services. Department of Psychiatry provides treatment for a range of psychiatric disorders along with deaddiction services. We also liaise with other departments of the hospital in managing psychological issues in medically ill patients.

Our core competencies involve evidence based management, Electroconvulsive therapy, Psychological therapy, Forensic Psychiatry services, Learning disability and intellectual disability certification. Our department also offers 2 seats for postgraduate (MD) course in psychiatry

We have OPD Services on all days except Sundays and public holidays at GMC Miraj hospital and PVP General Hospital Sangli. Admission and In-Patient care services are available at GMC Hospital Miraj where we have 20 bedded In- patient Psychiatry unit.
